Last weekend we had Callen's 1st birthday party! He was so excited, and he wanted to help with some of the preparations.
Since Callen is our "Little Stinker," we had a skunk-themed birthday party.
Most of our family was able to attend and help us celebrate our little guy.
When it was time to open presents, Ranger was much more excited than Callen! Ranger received a few gifts as well, so both boys really had a good time.
True to form for any baby, Callen was more interested in the packaging than the gifts themselves!
"What's happening here, Mama?"
Ranger really thought all the gifts were for him.
Grumpy helped Callen learn about one of his new toys.
Can you say, overstimulated?
Then it was time for cake!
Our precious little boy is 1 year old! I truly can't believe it's been a year since our sweet Callen Ty entered this world. He is such a blessing to our family.
Birthday Boy!
He is ALL Chad in this picture!
It's tricky trying to grab a picture while he sits still, so we have several action shots. :-)
We met some friends at the park for lunch that day. Callen enjoys exploring the outdoors and eating various substances when Mommy isn't paying attention!
We went to the doctor on Friday and here are his stats:
Weight: 20 lbs, 11 oz (25th%)
Height: 29.0 inches (25th - 50th%)
Head: 19.0 inches (97th%)

Callen is a good little eater and really eats what we eat now. He loves fruit and all dairy products. But, he seems to have no problem eating green veggies and meat as well. He has been drinking whole milk for almost the last month. He still has a bottle in the morning and at bedtime, but during the day, he is using sippy cups for water and milk.
Callen is a great sleeper. He takes 2 naps a day, usually around 1.5 hours each. He goes to bed between 6:30-7:00pm and wakes up around 6:30am. I give him a bottle in bed and then he happily plays until 7:00am when I get him up for the day. He has a favorite lovey and a stuffed turtle (Squirt from "Finding Nemo") that he sleeps with. He also still sleeps with his paci. The only other times he gets his paci are church (to help with the loudness!) and the car.
He has discovered the Swiffer and loves it just as much as Ranger! I may have to start a house cleaning service with all the great help I have. ;-)
Callen loves his Mommy and Daddy so much these days, and he lights up whenever we walk into the room. He is going through his separation anxiety phase, but it usually doesn't last very long. If I'm in the room, he prefers to be with me, but he doesn't throw too much of a fit if someone else needs some snuggles.
Callen and Ranger have tons of fun together and really keep me on my toes! I'm so happy they are friends!
Callen is our determined little guy and is already trying to climb on anything and everything. He's usually not too tentative with new tasks or situations. He also doesn't seem to get frustrated easily, which is possibly a trait of being a little brother and having an older brother steal your toys all the time!
HUGS!!
Ranger introduced Callen to the doggie door on Labor Day. Callen thought it was hilarious!
Callen loves his baths! He will play and splash until he is all wrinkly.
He especially loves playing on his tummy and kicks his little legs like a frog. So cute!
Here is a video of Callen walking around like a pro! He rarely crawls and prefers to be on his feet.
And, of course, no one can make him laugh as much as Daddy!
We love you so very much Callen Ty! You are such a joy and bring so much happiness to our family. Your Daddy and I are blessed to be your parents, and Ranger couldn't have picked a better little brother. Thank you God, for our sweet Callen Ty.
