Our precious Payton Elizabeth is 5 months old! She is growing and changing all the time, and she has turned into such a funny little sweetie with so many smiles.
All 3 of my sweet kids after church one Sunday! Payton really loves her brothers and lights up any time she is around them.
Payton has learned how to pick things up in her hands and will reach for anything she can. Here she is holding on to some hair bows.
Which I replaced with an actual toy because anything in her hand will inevitably go straight in her mouth.
Payton is also learning to root for the Dallas Cowboys...even when they aren't so good!
She tried rice cereal for the first time last week and seemed to enjoy it. I've given a little to her each day so that she can learn how to eat off of the spoon. We haven't tried any other food yet. She still nurses every 3 hours or so during the day and once at night.
Tummy time isn't such a horrible thing any more either! Payton still doesn't love it, but she will tolerate it in small doses, especially if someone is laying down next to her. Occasionally she will roll from tummy to back, but she hasn't rolled from back to tummy yet.
Payton has also learned that watching VeggieTales with her brothers can be fun too! This special, quiet moment was nice for mommy too!
These 2 seriously love each other. Ranger wants to hold and kiss her all the time, and he loves playing with her. She smiles anytime she sees her big brother! I love this so much.

And the biggest change taking place right now is that Payton is learning how to sleep in her crib, without a swaddle, and on her own. Poor girl! I sure threw alot of changes her way. But, it was becoming harder and harder to get her to sleep, and she hasn't been staying asleep as long anymore. So, it's time for her to learn to fall asleep on her own. I still read her a story and sing her a song while we rock in the chair together and snuggle for a few minutes, but then it's straight to her crib.
We are only on night 2, but I'm hopeful that we are both sleeping more soundly within a few days! She takes 3 naps a day, and she is learning to take these on her own as well. It's a rough road, but I did it with the boys, so I know I can make it through Payton's transition too.
Sweet Payton has definitely found her voice now! She coos, happily screams, and "talks" all the time now. She is such an animated little sweetie, and I love every minute with her!
