Happy 18-months to our sweet Callen Ty!!
Callen is such a joy to be around and is officially more of a toddler than a baby. He does more and more "little boy" things every day! It was hard to get him to stay still for a picture, and there were many shots taken with his various expressions:

We went to the doctor today for his 18-month check up. He is a healthy boy, growing right on track! He weighs 23.6 pounds (25th%), is 31.5 inches tall (50th %), and has a 19.5" head (97th%!). To compare to Ranger, click here.
Here are some more things I want to remember about Callen at this age:
- He doesn't really have a large vocabulary yet. He says Mama, Dada, A-ger (Ranger), ma (more), pa (pat), ball, and he babbles constantly. He is very good at repeating our sounds, just not our words yet. He seems to be picking up more by the day, though, so I'm sure will will hit a vocabulary boom soon. He definitely understands every thing we say, though, and follows directions well.
- He finally loves books and reading! I really never thought I would say that about Callen as he had zero interest in books for over a year. But now he happily brings me books to read to him and will even sit and read his favorites by himself.
- He loves all things boy: balls, trucks, cars.
- Callen is quite determined and independent. He tries really hard to make things happen and will get frustrated if it doesn't work how he wants. He will also very clearly give us a big head shake "no" when he doesn't want our help. I actually love that he can let us know what he wants and doesn't want now. :-)
- Callen can point to many body parts and especially loves his tongue.
- He loves Ranger and always wants to play chase with him.
- He can make some excellent animal noises, including: camel, dog, cow, snake, duck, and cat.
- Callen loves to blow kisses!
- Callen can be a sweet, cozy buddy and will grab his lovey or one of his animals when he wants to come up and have a sweet cuddle with us. I love this.
- Callen goes to bed at night between 6:45 - 7:15 He wakes up around 6:15-6:30am. He takes only one nap now that is 1.5 - 2.5 hours long.
- Callen has 13 teeth, with 2 more working their way out, as evidenced by his wanting to stick everything in his mouth...
Callen will play in the kitchen while I cook dinner. He loves to make a mess pulling various items out of the cabinets. It can be a little noisy, but at least he is entertaining himself!
