Halloween this year was so much fun! Ranger is at the perfect age to enjoy it, and Callen thought some of it was pretty great too.
Ranger was very excited that he was going to be a pirate and loved that he had a sword and could say "aarrgghh!" any time. Our small group had a little Halloween party, which was the first time he really had on his costume. He loved it so much that he asked to wear his pirate costume every day after that!
We recycled the turtle costume that Ranger wore on his first Halloween for Callen. This was the only time he allowed me to put the turtle head on him. :-)
On the Saturday before Halloween, we went to Nonnie and Grumpy's church for "Trunk or Treat." Daddy drew a mustache on Ranger, and when Ranger asked, he also drew one on himself!
Ranger was especially excited about "Trunk or Treat." He's trying to get Callen in the spirit too.
"Alright...let's get this show on the road."
Equally as excited, Ranger's friend Cooper couldn't wait to start!
I think Ranger was really surprised that we actually let him go to each and every car and get candy. He kept asking, "can we go to another one?" I suppose he is accustomed to more limits, so Halloween was a bit of a shock to him!
He met another pirate too!
I'm not sure Ranger quite knew what to do about him!
Callen just hung out with whoever would hold him.
We tried to get a picture of Ranger and his buddies. They were a little distracted, but I think it's pretty cute!
Enjoying the loot!
Ranger loved the bounce house and would have stayed in forever, I think!
On Halloween, Ranger and I did a craft while Callen napped. I stole the cute idea from my cousin, Britney. Thanks!
Before dinner, Chad and Ranger carved some pumpkins. Chad let Ranger design them; here they are in their consulting session.
Ready to trick or treat!
Nonnie came over to join in the fun and act as Callen's personal chauffeur.
Ranger is just tall enough for most of the door bells in our neighborhood.
Someone's looking a little tired...
Look closely and you can see Chad waving at us from across the street! He stayed at the house for other trick or treaters.
Just a little snack to keep us going!
Here are the pumpkins Chad and Ranger created. As you can tell, our almost-3-year-old had quite the say in how they turned out!
He was a little tired, but not so tired that he could kick back and enjoy candy on the front porch with Daddy while they handed out candy to the other kids.
We had a great Halloween weekend! Halloween already ranks among our favorite family holidays!
