Last weekend we packed up the boys and the bags and headed 8 hours west to New Mexico to spend a few days with some of our family. We haven't seen my grandparents for several months, so we were excited to get going!
Ranger was really excited because the only time he watches DVDs in the car is on long trips. This was the first road trip in our "new" Yukon, so that added to the fun! He was pretty excited and happy all the way there.

We intentionally left home right around Callen's morning nap time, so he was quite ready to crash. :-)

Ranger helped navigate...
We didn't bring our booster seat when we visited my Nima and Papa, so we improvised. Callen is sitting on a big, metal pot and is secured with Chad's belt. :-)
Mmmmm....suckers!
And popsicles!
There was even time for arts and crafts at my cousin Britney's house!

And, of course, more popsicles with the cousins!
The boys loved that there were always kids to play with...
Books to read...

Brownies to make...

And puzzles to do...

And horses to ride...

Real ones too! This was Ranger's first time on a horse, and after a little time to warm up to the idea, he apparently liked it!
With all this activity, it was time to nap (or pretend to) with Cricket.

But sadly, every trip must end. And, what road trip is complete without a stop at Dairy Queen along the way!
