A few years ago, my friend, Katy, and I decided it would be fun to be able to go on a trip together with our husbands to celebrate our 10 year anniversaries. Well, lo and behold...we made it happen! Because of Chad's job and Katy's, we each had Southwest points for flights and Hilton points for a hotel. So, we chose Phoenix!
None of us had ever visited Phoenix before, so this seemed like a great location. Also, we were still in the continental U.S. should we need to get home for any reason, as this was the first big trip without kids since before Payton was born. :-)
We arrived, and it was beautiful!
We stayed at the Arizona Biltmore Waldorf Astoria. We didn't know much about the resort, and it wasn't quite what we expected at first. But as each day went by, we loved it more and more. It's an older hotel, with tons of history. Ronald and Nancy Reagan stayed there on their honeymoon!
While we did plenty with Blake and Katy, we were also able to enjoy some time with just the two of us.
And, while the guys golfed one day, Katy and I went shopping!
Then, Chad and Blake convinced Katy and me to take a "hike." It was beautiful, and I truly am glad we did it...it was a wonderful way to see the city and its surroundings and enjoy something completely different than what we have at home. But, it was quite a strenuous hike and climb!
Strong women!!
Not too worry...Katy and I had plenty of pool and relaxing time as well...
And we even dressed up one evening for a nice anniversary dinner!
The Capital Grille treated us very well!
Here's the view on a morning walk to Starbucks...
And a selfie of the guys on one of their golf outings...
On the last morning, Chad went on a hike by himself, and he CRUSHED it! :-)
All 4 of us agreed that we would definitely visit Phoenix again some day. Even better, we agreed that we could vacation together again too!
